Update: Due to severe storms in the Mid-Atlantic region, and the resulting loss in many states across the country of access to America's lifeblood, the Internet, the Poll will remain open until Thursday, July 5th.
Riding on the coat tails of Steel Spike's fantastic post "Annual BTSC Get to Know Each Other Thread", I thought it would be fun to find out what city can lay claim to being the "Pittsburgh West" of BTSC.
Unless someone can suggest a better method, the Poll works like this:
First, each of you vote for the state you live in. At the end of the Poll, I'll take the State (continent, or geographic region) with the most votes, and then find the major cities in that area, and conduct another Poll, and the winning city claims the honor of being re-named "Pittsburgh X of BTSC" (where X stands for the geographic direction one must travel from Pittsburgh to reach the winner).
Some guidelines:
- Pennsylvania isn't included for obvious reasons, and I'll die before I equate Philadelphia to Pittsburgh
- Washington DC counts only as Washington DC; there will be separate entries for Virginia and Maryland - look at your return address for clues as to which one you should select.
- In acknowledging that Steeler Nation is world wide, and out of respect for those citizens of Steeler Nation who reside outside of the United States, I've included five continents (Antartica is for Packer fans anyway), Canada, and Mexico. Should any of these win, I'll pull out my atlas and begin parsing the winning geographic region in similar fashion.
This Preliminary Poll closes at Noon on Sunday, July 1; at which time, if a sufficient number of votes have been cast (indicating interest in the results), I'll post the results and the Final Poll late Sunday.
