Too funny...I was asked if I'd rather marry a Ravens fan or a non-football fan once. I still don't have an answer. Good stuff! - nc
I am new to the site though I have been actively reading posts for about 2 years now. This is my first post and I felt that as we sit and twiddle our thumbs in eager anticipation of the upcoming season I might add a little bit of my own experience and humor as a die hard Steeler fan. I am from the great state of Pennsylvania ,and having now spent my entire adult life circling the globe for the U. S. Navy and finally settling down in Packerland (Wisconsin) I am, as one might have guessed, an outcast of sorts for my Steeler love. Nearly every day of the year you will find me sporting something that proclaims my undying faithfulness to that establishment we all know as The Pittsburgh Steelers. This devotion has driven me to purchase the "Sunday Ticket" every year since it was available so that I might be able to take part in the ritual that is real football, namely Steelers football wherever they may be playing. Like many of the Steeler faithful I shout in triumph when we score a touchdown, jump around in jubilation for a sack or pick by our stout defense and cry myself to sleep in those rare occasions we lose a contest. This is in part what brings me to the obvious.
My wife is an unabashed and unashamed Ratbird fan. No stuttering here folks. For as long as there has been purple in Baltimore I have held a special place in my heart for everything Raven. You know the place. A room filled with loathing and hatred for the only team that is the true pariah of everything Steeler. I willingly admit a respect for the level of play they bring to our match ups and would not want anyone else to beat on any given Sunday. It was one of these Sundays about 4 years ago that I celebrated perhaps a bit too much after a Steeler over Ratbird victory and sealed my fate forever. From that day forward my loving wife of over 20 years became a Raven. This is the mother of my children, my lover, my sweetheart, my partner for life.......................A FREAKIN RAVEN!!!!!!!!!!!
I have only myself to blame. Maybe I should not have been so zealous. Perhaps it is all of the Steeler t-shirts and hats that I wear almost every day of my waking life. Now the living room has become the war room on Sundays especially when "WE PLAY THEM".
I am not trolling for sympathy. Just wondering if anyone else has got it this bad. She even bought a Flacco jersey for c******'s sake! I am married to one who worships "THE BROW"!
