I’ve stuck my cent-and-a-half in a couple of times before, but after reading and commenting on Momma’s latest camp report, I realized I hadn’t fleshed out my profile and should introduce myself. Run-on sentences are always a good start.

As my bio states, I’ve been a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers ever since I knew what being a fan was. I remember watching my mother hoot and jump and wag her finger at the men in black-and-gold before I knew why it was she was happy/angry at them. As I came to comprehend the game of football, the men in black-and-gold never gave me good enough reason to wander. I was born the year we landed on the moon. I watched Terry throw to Lynn . I saw the Mean Joe Green Coke commercial on its first run. I was young, but I was there hooting and jumping.

I sulked through the ‘Minusty’ years, always hoping for another touch of the good days. ‘Maybe Neal can get us there’, ‘They call him ‘Bubby’? Really?’ , ‘No, Mr. Chin, Slash isn’t a Quarterback’ and I hooted and jumped and wagged my finger but never waivered. I’ve just this season broken my Pirates hat back out, but I’ve never one season not worn my Steelers gear.

These recent years have been the touch of the good days I had been hoping for. We have great players leading a great team and I don’t see it stopping soon. It doesn’t feel to me as though this group is winding down or slowing down or whatever the gap-toothed media mouthpieces want to say. This team did what it needed to do to keep itself in contention for championships.

I very much appreciate all the reports from camp, news from sources I don’t have access to and stories from fans who love this team just as much if not more than I do. We are a great Nation and I am proud to be a part of it. Here We Go!!
