I'll be making my semi-annual 15 minute trip to Nashville to watch our Steelers whoop up on the Titans at LP Field in the Thursday Night Football extravaganza on October 11th and wondered if any BTSC faithful would be making the trip! PixburghArn is still on the fence (watch out for those fence posts, Arn!) as his schedule is quite demanding.. but typically, Steeler Nation makes quite a presence in Steelerville.
If you've not been to Nashville before, you're in for quite a treat especially when the Steelers come to town! 2nd Avenue (just off the main drag, Broadway) resembles anything you'll find in Pittsburgh on gameday: It's Black & Gold and a Steeler fans' paradise! Good food, good drink and plenty of Steeler jerseys no matter where you are.
LP Field is a short walk across the Cumberland river where tailgating Steeler fans are abundant. It's just like being "home". As much as I personally hope the Titans never win a single game they play, ever... (unless it's against an AFCN opponent of course) I can't take a thing away from the Titans fans treatment of opposing teams fans. They are all class when you're visiting LP Field. Of course, as a visiting teams fan, our own behavior is the precursor to favorable treatment. In 4 trips to see the Steelers at LP, Steeler Nation has always represented themselves with class and grace... even when our Terrible Towel was being disgraced. (glare.)
One thing is for sure though... you won't have to look hard to find a brother or sister of Steeler Nation.
Last I heard, Steel City Mafia is having a rally at McFadden's on 2nd Avenue. Former players generally attend and it really is a good time.
If anyone is planning to attend, let's get together for a little BTSC meet & greet! Hope to see a lot of you there!
HERE WE GO STEELERS!!!
