The recent suggestions about Ryan Clark being let go brought me back to a harsh reality. I hadn't realized I had secretly been hoping that the Steelers would be able to keep everyone and our Defense would be back to the way it used to be in '08, despite the Salary Cap issues. The news of Ryan Clark shutting down his twitter account, while not an implication of anything, made me fully realize that no one is off limits this offseason. The dreaded phrase has been ignored by Steeler fans over the years, but we may have to accept that it is coming: Rebuilding mode (at least on Defense). While we have some pieces to build around for the future (Woodley, Timmons, Lewis), there are a lot of question marks about the rest of the guys that will need to step up (Worilds, Heyward, Spence, McClendon) if my worst fears are realized. We could be in for a few rough seasons before our Defense gets back to being a Super Bowl Contender.
