Ike Taylor switching to Safety?

There have been rumors circulating around Pittsburgh that there has been talk between Ike Taylor and Mike Tomlin on Ike possibly switching to FS next season. In a Press Conference following San Diego's win against Kansas City, when asked about it he was lighthearted and didn't give much more than tantalizing hints, but it isn't unheard of. Plenty of players have extended their careers by switching from CB to S, the most prominent being Rod Woodson and Charles Woodson in recent years, to go along with current players like New England's Devin McCourty. While some may not think it makes sense due to Taylor's inability to catch errant passes thrown right to him, I believe he would make a great Free Safety, seeing as he knows what is going through a CB's head and could use that to make full use of his current abilities. He is also a willing tackler and would be serviceable in run support.
