Oregon DE/OLB and first round prospect Dion Jordan will miss the next 3-4 months of football activities as he recovers from surgery to repair a torn labrum.
NFL Network reported Saturday during coverage of the NFL Combine Oregan DE/OLB Dion Jordan will have surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder, and will be out 3-4 months.
That would put him out of all Combine workouts and any pre-draft workout. He may even miss the rookie minicamp most teams have in wake of their full team minicamps in May and June.
What this will do to his draft stock remains to be seen. It could mean nothing, outside of the questions scouts may have had after watching him on film. For many of them, they want to watch them live to validate what they feel they saw on tape. Maybe that just keeps Jordan in the spot scouts thought he would go.
Before hitting free agency in 2006, then Chargers quarterback Drew Brees had surgery to repair a torn labrum. The Saints took a gamble and signed him to a big contract. The Miami Dolphins were spooked by the surgery and the price tag, and instead, traded a second round pick to Minnesota for Daunte Culpepper.
Just sayin'.
