Just throwing this out there, but what about signing Pollard to a multi-year deal and releasing Polamalu. Pollard will command around 3 million a year, and Polamalu is going to cost us roughly 22 million in the next 2 years, and his play has significantly declined in the last few seasons.
This season Polamalu was often jumping around the outside of the pile after the ball carrier was already brought down, or late to reach a pass because he doesn't have the same quickness for course correction that he used to. Pollard would bring in a toughness that we lost when we cut Harrison and is a quality strong safety. It would also give him two chances a year to beat on the team that cut him 10 months after signing him to a new contract.
