One full day has gone by in the the 2013 NFL free agency period, and to this point, cornerback Keenan Lewis hadn't really made much of a splash.
Now, it appears if nothing else, he headed home for a little while.
Lewis tweeted Wednesday morning he was "heading down Airline Dr to visit with the New Orleans Saints!"
Exclamation point and all. He seems excited.
Certainly a lot to be excited about. The Saints were the league's worst defense in 2012, and one of the worst in NFL history in terms of yards and points allowed. They allowed 440 yards a game - 57 more per game than the Giants, who finished second to last at 383.
They brought in Rob Ryan to install a 3-4 defense, and obviously, Lewis has some experience in that regard.
It doesn't appear the Steelers are interested in making an offer to Lewis - at least not until the market sets itself a little bit for his services.
