Steelers keeping Willie Colon for now according to his agent

Reported by Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Joe Linta, Willie Colon's agent told him that the Steelers Front Office "currently plans to do nothing with his (Colon's) contract at the moment and they have not asked for a reduction."

Cutting Willie Colon would only save a little over $1 Million in Cap Space. It doesn't make sense to save that little money and downgrade to either Kelvin Beachum or an unproven rookie (even if it is Warmack or Cooper). Colon gives them a proven starter (albeit with injury concerns) and someone who knows this Offensive Line very well. I think the Steelers are waiting until after the Draft and Free Agency to make the final decision on Colon on whether or not he will be with the team in 2013.
