Hi fellas. I recently joined up to do a mock draft over at Stampede Blue. I chose the Steelers since they're my second favorite team after my hometown Colts. I checked your guys site out quite a bit as well as some other Steelers resources. Here is the link to the results. Let me explain my reasonings behind the picks.
Round 1: Corderelle Patterson, WR, TENN-- With Wallace leaving and now the New England "suck my balls" Patriots trying to pluck Sanders, I was thinking we could use a playmaker for Ben. He's a little raw, but has more potential to be a number 1 WR than anyone else in the draft. I figure coach Tomlin will get him coached up and help him grow as a man (since there has been maturity concerns).
Round 2: Justin Pugh, G/OT Syrc.-- Pitt is moving to a zone blocking scheme, and is thin along the O line. Pugh is projected as zone blocking G in the NFL who can play some tackle in a pinch. Pugh should be able to compete for a starting G spot right away.
Round 3: Corey Lemonier, OLB/DE, AUB-- I was happy this guy fell to me. Motor, motor, and some more motor. Prototypical Pittsburgh Steelers kinda OLB. After being coached up by Tomlin and company for a year or two I strongly believe this guy will be a beast. James who??? LOL!
Let me know what you guys think about how I represented your organization. I put a lot of research in to this and the draft itself took damn near 5 hours. It's the first time I've done one of these and it was a neat experience. I will be watching Pittsburgh as closely as the Colts on draft day and I hope that day goes well for you guys. Good luck next season!!!
