The 2013 Mocking the Draft "LIVE" 7 round with trades Mock Draft comes to Turf Show Times April 20 -21!

Updated: The Draft date has changed to April 20-21, from the old dates of 23-24. The start time is the same: 2pm Eastern Time

Mocking the Draft's Dan Kadar and Turf Show Times' Joe McAtee have worked out all the details to bring the biggest LIVE Mock Draft of the year to TST. This 7 round plus trades Mock Draft will include the entire SBNation family, and represent all 32 NFL teams. It all happens April 20th and 21st. Trades will be open at 12 noon Eastern Time, with the LIVE Mock Draft starting at EXACTLY 2pm Eastern Time each day. If you haven't added TST to your SBN site list, get on it! There's two day waiting period like most SBN sites.

I've long been a fan of Mocking the Draft. Dan Kadar built an amazing site, and his rabid NFL draft followers flock to read his articles every day. This famous draft TST will be hosting features the most knowledgeable and rabid NFL Draft-nics anywhere. This is where the big boys come to gather once a year, so it isn't for the feint of heart. It will be carried "LIVE" on Twitter, with one of our famous event trackers. The warm up for this draft takes place at MtD on March 30th, so make sure to drop in for the 2 round-no trades Mock Draft.

We have dedicated e-mail addresses for sign ups, trades and additional things like BPA lists. The Turf Show Times staff will do their best to analyze and approve each trade as fast as they can. We'll be using most of the rules MtD has used in past drafts, but if you're participating, you need to read the rule list.

To GM a team:

To qualify for a team, you must have a draft board with your Best Players Available listed in the order you wish them picked, and submitted to portales55@gmail.com prior to Draft day. This list is for when you miss the time limit to submit your picks. THIS IN NOT AN AUTO-DRAFT. There are 32 draft war rooms available. If you wish to take part in your favorite team's war room, send an e-mail to: signup4mockdraft@yahoo.com and your name will be forwarded to the war room GM once they are chosen. It will be up to the teams' draft day GM - and not us - whether you'll be a member of the war rooms. Because this is a MtD draft, we'll be respecting primacy of prior MtD participants for GMs. This doesn't mean you can't ask for a team, because some teams may not have a GM this year. If a prior MtD GM does not claim their team, it will go to the first person who submits a request that's qualified, and who will GUARANTEE they'll be available for both days of the draft. You can bring in as many people as you like to your war room. I also need your or your war room's Twitter handles. If you don't have one, it's an easy sign up that's free. We need it so your picks can be seen in the tracker we'll be posting, and so some of our guest analysts can give you their thoughts.

I’ll be encouraging ALL GMs to allow their SBN home site co-horts access in some way. For instance, this year the 7 rounder will be carried LIVE on Twitter. We have a host of guest analysts who’ll be dropping into Twitter and the draft threads to make observations on your picks. War Rooms are going to need a social media guy to post to Twitter, and we may add Reddit.

FYI – I’ll be asking the MtD experts to be analysts, plus we have Russ Lande from NFP and a bunch from Drafttek. I'm hoping CBS Sports may be a part of the analyst crew too. If I can get enough analysts, I’ll assign one to each team’s war room so you can chat and ask questions before draft day. I wonder who’ll want Brad Evans? :-)

Trades:

Send all trades to: trades4MockDraft@hotmail.com

Trading picks MUST be within 100 points of the established pick point values. None, ZERO, nada exceptions. We'll be using this points chart for values, courtesy of draftcountdown.com. No player trades will be allowed once the LIVE draft has started. You may make player trades within the trade window (12 noon ET to 1:50 ET), but be warned. We'll have TST's Fantasy Football gurus rating these trades. If they are prohibitively off, they won't be allowed. 2014 picks will have HALF the point value of 2013 picks, and no further year draft picks will be allowed, so no 2015 draft picks. No additional time will be allotted for making a trade, so make sure your war room has someone who's dedicated for trade purposes if you can.

Getting your trade in during the pre-draft trade window will help ensure they go through. It will also help keep the draft moving, which everyone will appreciate.

To submit a trade: YOU MUST HAVE A PLAYER TO BE PICKED READY WHILE THE STAFF CONSIDERS AND APPROVES YOUR TRADE. FAILURE TO SUBMIT A PLAYER TO BE TAKEN WHILE THE TRADE IS CONSIDERED WILL MAKE THE TRADE VOID. IF THE TRADE GOES THROUGH, MAKE THE PICK YOU OR WHO YOU TRADED WITH WANTS. We want the pick on hand so we can make the pick so the draft doesn't bog down.

Picks:

We'd like only picks to be posted on the subject line. ALL OTHER COMMENTS ABOUT A PICK SHOULD LEAVE THE SUBJECT LINE BLANK AND WRITE IN THE CONTENT AREA ONLY! This will make tracking picks easier for the staff, and easier for you to read. We'll be posting draft updates every 10 picks in the Draft threads, and we'll be starting new threads every 500 comments.

YOU MUST WAIT FOR YOUR PICK TURN TO BE ANNOUNCED. EXAMPLE: "THE TITANS ARE ON THE CLOCK", THEN YOU CAN MAKE YOUR SELECTION. DON'T JUMP THE GUN. TST DOES TONS OF LIVE MOCK DRAFTS, AND WE'VE FOUND THIS WAY ACTUALLY SAVES TIME OVER PEOPLE SLAPPING PICKS UP.

Each pick entry should include the following:

Overall Pick #, Team, Player, Position, and College. Example: Pick #1, St. Louis Rams select: Joe McAtee, LS, Slippery Rock State

Time limits for picks are as follows:

1st Round: 5 minutes

2nd and 3rd rounds: 3 minutes

4th through 7 rounds: 3 minutes

The time limits will be adhered to at all times. With the staff at TST, we'll have people dedicated to moving this draft along as fast as possible. We'll have one person whose job it is to post a pick for anyone who doesn't make it in the allotted time. Your time will start when your pick turn is announced.

Like in past years, this is going to be wild! We'll be watching closely for abusive behavior toward anyone in the comments threads. This is about showing not only your draft prowess, but also the class we've all come to expect from SBN members.

If you have any questions about the rules, send them to: portales55@gmail.com

We look forward to seeing you at this year's Mocking the Draft 7 round plus trades draft!
