shifting schemes

Sorry if this has been brought up before, but I'm fairly new here and have just begun posting. I am, however, a life-long Steeler fan and football fanatic in general. That being said...

How would yall feel about a shift towards a 4-3 base defense. When I look at our depth chart, I really don't think that the transition would be all that difficult. Our front seven at the moment would actually project better in a 4-3 when one thinks about it. We would need depth for sure, but we could actually have a decent 4-3 base front seven.

At defensive end, we would have a rotation of Keisel, Worilds, Woodley, and Heyward. Ziggy Hood, McClendon, Al Woods would all play the interior, and Heyward could kick inside on passing downs. Assuming he comes back at 100%, Sean Spence would be a picture perfect fit at weak-side linebacker. Timmons could play either middle or strong-side, and Chris Carter probably could also play the strong-side.

Plus, a shift to the 4-3 could also alleviate the conversion time for a lot of these 4-3 college guys to adjust to the 3-4. Granted I know that nothing is going to change while Dick LeBeau is in charge, and probably won't if and when Keith Butler takes the reigns when Dick LeBeau finally steps down but the thought has crossed my mind quite a bit over the course of the past few seasons. I just thought I'd throw it out to yall and see what you thought...
