According to Steelers.com, the Steelers have signed fourth round draft pick Shamarko Thomas. Thomas is the first 2013 draft pick signed by the Steelers, who had been expected to wait until after June 1 to sign any picks once the cap space created by Willie Colon's release was credited.
This makes the second time the Steelers have jumped up for Thomas, after previously trading away a 2014 third round pick to the Cleveland Browns, the Steelers now move up their signing deadline for the promising safety out of Syracuse.
The Steelers inked Thomas to a four-year deal, though financial terms weren't immediately disclosed. Looks like you'll be able to wear a new #29 jersey for at least the next four years, so either go out and get one now, or sharpie out that Chidi Iwuoma one currently in your closet (no one seriously had a Ryan Mundy jersey did they?).
The Shark is officially in Black and Gold.
