Later, in the off-season, Flacco signed an elite contract to remain with the Ravens, which some took as a forced show of support to the "elite" theory. In a further act of biased enabling, the Baltimore Sun recently ran a readers-poll on their website asking the question, "Who is the better quarterback: the Ravens Flacco, or the Steelers Ben Roethlisberger?
At the time of this CBS Sports report by Josh Katzowitz, Roethlisberger held 95 percent of the votes.
Maybe the folks in Baltimore finally figured out what an elite quarterback was?
Turns out they still don't know, as the results of the poll may or may not have been tampered with by Steelers fans, looking to defend their quarterback's honor in a cowardly biased contest, knowing a Flacco victory would have only been used to perpetuate rumors regarding Flacco's elite status.
Whether the results were scientific or not, the poll did prove one thing. Anything resembling a contest between the Ravens and the Steelers is sure to bring out the best in Pittsburgh fans.
