Ravens acquire A.Q. Shipley in trade with Colts

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

From BTSC's "Why Do We Care?" files, former Steelers seventh round draft pick A.Q. Shipley traded from Indianapolis to Baltimore.

The Steelers selected center A.Q. Shipley in the seventh round of the 2009 draft.

Like nearly all of the 2009 Steelers draft class, he's no longer on the team. Instead, Shipley ended up in Indianapolis under former Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians. Now the head coach of the Cardinals, Shipley - and his T-Rex arms - apparently became expendable.

The Colts dealt him for an undisclosed draft pick in 2014. It couldn't be much lower than the 226th pick in which Shipley was taken five years prior. But odds are good it's right around that spot.
