Other than that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln. It has been kind of that week for me. Ravens did not get off to a great start to the season, I had a great time at Baltimore Comic Con and Team USA qualified for the World Cup. It has been a nice week. Washington lost so their fans happiness does not make the Steelers losing as bad as it could be. There are fifteen more games left; so, big picture is not as bad as it could be.
There have been quite a few posts about the roster. Fans can be very critical about the roster, but it is hard for me to see any GM that could have been ready for the chaos that hit the Steelers roster over the past ten months. Colbert has been ready and able to deal with the fall out. That is all you can ask from him. Sad to say what happened Sunday is now SOP for the Steelers. Colbert deals with this kind of thing in his sleep now. The Cap situation could have been much worse. How often has the team had to pay the injured starter, the injured back-up and the replacement to for that back-up? You have to stretch those cap dollars. What seems to have changed is the ability of team's offense to adjust.
Before last year the offense had the ability to adjust to the disaster of the week. It may not have been pretty but it was winning. The team made it to two Superbowls with not the best of offensive lines. The team got past subpar OL play against Arizona to win the game. I think we know what the team wants to do offensively. I would now just like to know want the team can do. They need to do that and do it well.
There may be some that complain that the offense is underperforming, but if it is winning I could care less. I can live with a Superbowl team that you would like to run better. Maybe the front office can learn to live with it too.
