I read a post by Jay Glaser that Christian Ponder is on a short leash and the Vikings are build to win now. If the Steelers start the season 0-4 (entirely possible) does it make sense for the Steelers to consider dealing Big Ben if their was a compelling enough package? Say multiple 1st round picks (i.e. Carson Palmer)
There has been much written recently about how Ben is "stuck" on a team in transition. Articles written about "lowered expectations" for this season. Now Ben will certainly be good for several more years, but why not consider trading him at the height of his value. Let's face it too... he's been in the league for 10 years and has taken tons of hits. He's not going to age gracefully like Peyton or Brady who get rid of the ball and don't take big shots.
If Art and Ziggy sit down for dinner and drink a few pints of Newcastle during week 4 in London... could this be a topic of discussion? Sound Obsurd... think about it. Bridgewater or Manziel in the Black and Gold. The NFL is changing!
