Is it deja vu all over again? Checking in on the 1989 Steelers

Just trying to keep the faith here but comparing the 1989 season to 2013 has been an interesting exercise. In 1989 we lost Mike Webster, had a young promising RB, Louis Lipps was receiving and returning kicks, and we had the all world Rod Woodson taking a rookie by the name of Carnell Lake under his wing. We started 0-2 and looked god awful doing so. Yet, we had the resolve to navigate or way through a tough schedulue and ended up making a splash in the playoffs. So far in 2013, we've lost Pouncey for the year. We have Brown receiving and returning punts and have a young promising RB chomping at the bit to get back in the lineup. We even got to see Rod the God return to help coach up the youth in our secondary this season. And speaking of the 1989 schedule, it looks alot like 2013 doesn't it? Of course the Oilers are now the Titans, the Browns are the Ravens, the old NFC Central is the AFC North and the Jets, Pats, and Dolphins are there too. I guess this is more of an exercise in holding out hope for the best, that despite the problems we have right now we can persevere and it is never too late to turn this thing around. It all starts next Sunday night with the Bears. Go 'Burgh! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1989_Pittsburgh_Steelers_season
