Joe Scalzo of the Youngstown Vindicator tweeted Wednesday the Steelers are among five teams represented at Youngstown State's Pro Day - a workout that saw center Chris Elkins run a 40-yard-dash in the 4.9 range.

The Steelers aren't necessarily in the market for a center - they will get Maurkice Pouncey back after a torn ACL in 2013 ended his season after eight snaps, and they signed utility interior lineman Cody Wallace to a contract this offseason - but if the Steelers have learned anything over the last few years, depth along their offensive line is critical.
That said, the Steelers will also get back 2013 UDFA OG Nik Embernate, a San Diego State prospect the Steelers felt had high hopes in training camp last year before a knee injury ended his shot at making the 53-man roster.
Embernate looks to compete for the deepest Steelers offensive line in quite a while. If they have their eyes on the athletic Elkins as well, it would indicate the Steelers are really looking for quickness and speed to implement their zone-blocking scheme with new offensive line coach Mike Munchak.
