ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. called LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to Pittsburgh since he came out with his Grade A draft for each team earlier in April.
Along with that, he predicted Notre Dame NT Louis Nix III heading to the Steelers as well.
He didn't change anything in his latest mock draft, sending the Suffix Team to the Steelers in the first and second rounds of the 2014 NFL Draft, respectively.
Additional titles to names aside, Beckham and Nix would both be strong value additions to the Steelers. Having an early down defensive presence in the middle of the line of scrimmage may help the team collapse each edge a bit more easily, helping the team own the line of scrimmage on the ground. Adding the do-it-all ability of Beckham to an already talented passing game could help the team consistently keep defenses guessing as to their intentions by moving him and versatile WR Antonio Brown around the formation.
The Steelers are meeting with DL Ra'Shede Hageman and CB Phillip Gaines Thursday, two other positions many feel the Steelers will address in this draft. Many will say if these are the two positions the Steelers add in the first two rounds, it'll be viewed as a success.
