The group formerly known as "The Triumverate" relished in its success, having snagged 2013 Pro Bowl selection Cordarrelle Patterson with the 17th pick last season. In order to maximize its efficiency, the group has gone down to two members, the two who most felt to be the driving force behind compelling other teams to stay away from Patterson.
Those two are back now. Those two are myself, and Steel34D (a.k.a. "Thirty"), and we will be selecting on behalf of Behind The Steel Curtain in the 2014 SB Nation Bloggers Mock Draft.
Not that we're above suggestion and advice.
The Houston Texans delivered their pick via Brett Kollman of Battle Red Blog, and to a slight surprise, they selected Teddy Bridgewater.
Ryan Van Bibber of Turf Show Times really upset the apple cart by selecting Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, throwing the top few picks into something of chaos. What that means, though, is one less talented non-quarterback player will fall to 15.
Alfie Crow and the rest of the Crow's Nesters grabbed Jadaveon Clowney for the Jaguars with the third pick, which was announced today. After that, the Browns selected Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson with the fourth pick.
Our initial plan to wait for 14 teams to forget about Clowney, then strut to the podium, grab the mic from the commissioner, announce our pick and strut off stage has been foiled (damn Alfie). We're formulating a back-up plan as you read this.
Behind The Steel Curtain is set to announce its pick at 11 a.m. ET Wednesday, April 7.
