Steelers offensive tackle Mike Adams is getting back to positional flexibility. According to Mark Kaboly and Alan Robinson of the Tribune Review, Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak isflipping Adams between right and left tackle, and may even push for a starting position.
Munchak is flip-flopping Adams at left and right tackle, and Adams could end up pushing Marcus Gilbert for the right tackle's job. Munchak wants the 325-pound Adams to rely more on technique rather than raw strength. "A lot of consistency is footwork in the passing game, keeping your feet moving and not leaning on guys, being tall," Adams said. "Small technique things that make a huge difference."
This comes amid other reports (including a tweet from Kaboly) that suggests camp isn't exactly going well for Adams. He was "beat bad (sic)" by undrafted rookie Howard Jones today in a pass rush drill.
Mike Adams continues to struggle. Beat bad by Howard Jones.

Still, the Steelers did seem to pick up quite a bit on the ground in 2012 when Adams replaced the injured Gilbert. It sparked the only real consistent rushing success over an extended period of time - the middle of that year when they rushed for over 140 yards a contest in a four-game winning streak.
The left tackle thing didn't really work out. Perhaps a move back to a position he actually had some success may help.
