Fans attending Pittsburgh Steelers training camp today will get a special treat, the ability to see the first time Mike Mitchell puts on black and gold and stands along side Troy Polamalu in training camp.
The Steelers have removed Mike Mitchell from the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list, declaring his injured groin healthy enough to return to practice and prepare for the Steelers' first preseason game Saturday against the New York Giants.
Mitchell's return to camp will mark the first time that the starting safety tandem will line up alongside one another since Polamalu skipped the team's OTAs and only attended the team's mandatory minicamp.
The Steelers will be extremely cautious with the Mitchell's return, not wanting to risk re-injury of the groin that has kept him out of training camp since day one.
Today's practice will begin at 2:55 p.m. ET and is open to the public. The players have been given Tuesday off from practice with the Giants game on Saturday.
