Ryan Clark says on Sports Center he plans to visit with the Washington Redskins

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The place where Clark first broke into the lineup may be his next employer.

If it didn't start in Washington for NFL veteran Ryan Clark, then it happened for him there.

An undrafted free agent out of LSU, Clark initially caught on with the New York Giants, but ended up in Washington where he paired with the late Sean Taylor, making one of the most physical safety combinations in the NFL.

Steelers after playing there since 2007, said Wednesday on Sports Center he will visit with the Redskins, looking to continue his career back in D.C.

Clark tweeted his congratulations to new Steelers safety Mike Mitchell Tuesday after the former Carolina Panthers player signed with the Steelers. It isn't often a player would show that level of respect for another, but it does show something of Clark's personal investment in the game.

Maybe that's why he's looking to sign on with the Redskins.

Obviously, what Clark said was more of a one-way street rather than "I've signed a contract," but hopefully something happens for him on the field.

And his message was a bit less controversial than many of the ones he makes when on ESPN.
