Pittsburgh's favorite national reporter Ian Rapoport Tweeted Thursday evening free agent wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is heading to Kansas City for a visit with the Chiefs.
You might want to wait on confirmation from the team if you read Sanders signed with them. Ahem.
Sanders is a solid second receiver who likely can find himself, contract-wise, somewhere between Detroit's Golden Tate and the Jets' Eric Decker. Each of them signed deals for $13.25 million guaranteed and $15 million guaranteed, respectively. Sanders doesn't quite have the production Decker has had, albeit playing in a much less powerful passing offense. His upside in terms of playing receiver as well as returning kicks may net him a few more dollars, but his market is likely around $14 million guaranteed in a four-year deal.
