I love parity. I love the fact that the jaguars have as much a chance to compete as other teams. The only thing stopping them is their own incompetence. Parity I think is what makes football so unique to say the NBA or MLB where it seems like only the big names get the edge.
Despite all that, the playoffs have been kind of annoying recently. I'm sick and tired of "hot" teams. I despise the term.It just doesn't seem like something defined by skill but more blind luck. As if the SB is only won if the football gods want you to. I'm not saying that the 9-7 giants and 10-6 ravens of the world didn't deserve it, but why has it always felt like a number one seed is a curse more than anything? The number one seeds have have always seemed to be the first to go.
I don't like hot teams. Teams like this make the reg season look like it doesn't matter. Just don't be too awful in the reg season and we'll sneak into the playoffs. I prayed that the chargers, packers, etc would lose cause I hate all these "hot" teams.
What I enjoy about this year is that not only are four remaining teams here, but they're all probably the four best teams in the NFL. These were most likely the teams you picked to be in this position at this point in the season and here they are. I want a team to win the SB to not be a team that gets totally destroyed and misses the playoffs the very next year.
Parity doesn't mean that the on paper good teams should suffer. If you're good, you're good. Nowadays if you have a 13-3, 14-2, 15-1 record, you' re guaranteed to not win the SB.
