I decided about a year ago that I would put the Driveby to rest for at least one year. It may come back next season, but I want to see if the interest is still there. This is not a real Driveby because.... Let me give a little back ground on the Driveby for those that may not know the history.
A few years back I decided I would do a quick report on each Steelers game, but I didn't have time to do the in-depth reporting that some do a great job of doing around here. So I decided I would do a bulleted report. The word Driveby came to mind because it would be quick. Then I thought about Los Angeles Drivebys that went from the streets to being depicted in the movies. That gave me a theme. I would do quick bulleted reports with a rap/hip hop theme. Get it?
Later I started to do Driveby Extras. These were not reports. They were posts of random variety. They were a series of rap/hip hop videos meant to imply what certain players were thinking. This is a Driveby Extra. While Drivebys and Driveby Extras have been about the Steelers, this will be a special version. It doesn't follow any of the rules.
Let's get this Super Bowl Driveby rockin.
1. Maybe they should call this one the "Refer Bowl". You have teams coming from "Green States". They're selling weed in stores. Giving "Rocky Mountain High" and "The Evergreen State" a new meaning. Let Dre and Snoop get you in the mood for the "Super Bowl" full of green. 2. Richard Sherman was called a thug. I never met a thug that was second in his class and had a Degree from Stanford. How bout we allow for emotion without being a thug, just because you're loud, black and wear dreds. Anyone one that knows me knows I don't play the race card but I'll call a "spade a spade". He displayed bad sportsmanship, but hey that dude can play! Anyhow, Richard said, "You can't go there." "If you come over here I'm shuttin it down." 3. Peyton Manning may not be confused for a thug, but he endorses rappers. "Rappers", you ask? Yes, here is proof. 4. Marshawn Lynch in Beastmode...Enough Said.
