I know there were some Steelers fans who didn't like his departure. I get that. On paper he looks like a tremendous weapon. But there is a reason why Mike Tomlin nicknamed him One Trick five minutes after he walked into rookie camp.
He's not a good route runner, he can't catch the ball unless it is perfectly thrown to him and he has no clue about body positioning and fighting for the football. These are inarguable flaws in his game. This guy who wanted Larry Fitzgerald-like money is twice as fast as Larry, but not even a quarter of the WR he is. All Mike Wallace has going for him are his legs. There will come a day when he won't be the fastest guy on the field. When that day comes, his career is over.
Very few players are dismissed by the Rooney family and have better careers elsewhere. I was quite pleased to see him leave. Mike's better days are behind him.
