Please answer the poll at the bottom, very interested to see who BTSC selects as the Super Bowl winner. You made your pick yet? I haven't, but will try to decide in the next couple of paragraphs.
As Anthony Defeo(sic) eloquently explained in his post this week, we are blessed to have two really good teams in the SB this year. 2014 has all the makings of one for the ages. I like that in my Super Bowls. Anybody into this sorta thing; Vegas has the Broncos as 3 point favorites.
Trivia Time: Denver and Seattle are both #1 seeds of their respective Conference. When is the last time two #1 seeds met in the Super Bowl? All correct answers receive a major award.
A quick glance at the game.
Denver, the NFL's #1 Offense led by arguably the GOAT, and could perhaps wrap that title up in the minds of many with a convincing win over the NFL's #1 Defense on the biggest stage, and even do it as an "older guy" in an open air, cold-climate stadium. Denver also has the 7th ranked Rush defense, whether it can slow down Marshawn Lynch when he goes Beast Mode may decide the game.
Trivia Interlude: When, if ever, have the NFL's #1 Offense and #1 Defense met in the Super Bowl?
Seattle, the NFL's #1 Defense led by the Legion of.........BOOM and the mean-mugging Richard Sherman. Do you get a little jealous as a Steelers fan watching the Seattle Defense? Love a great defense, and when you back that defense up with the 4th ranked Rushing attack led by the aforementioned Beast....well, jealous is an understatement, color me green. In the interest of fairness, I admit to being a fan of Russell Wilson since his College days
Last Trivia Question: Russell Wilson in his second year has the opportunity to win the Super Bowl, what other second year QB's have made the Super Bowl?
Well to wrap this post up (don't forget to vote in the poll), I am picking Seattle to win the Super Bowl 30 to 27 on a last second FG, to conclude a most memorable game that will have the water cooler world abuzz on Monday morning.
