The Steelers can get the 2nd Seed in the AFC- Here's How:

I wrote a fanpost about the Steelers getting into the playoffs with two losses... and help from other teams. However, the Steelers DO have a chance to make the playoffs with a bye week if they win out. Let me elaborate:

Colts need to lose at least one of their next two games:

I feel that it's possible for the Colts to finish 11-5, in which case an 11-5 Steelers team would be ranked above the Colts. The Colts play the Cowboys in week 16, which will not be an easy win for either team. I expect the Colts to win week 17 against the Titans. Root for the Cowboys next week

Patriots need to lose out

Not likely considering their momentum and ease of schedule going forward. The Pats play the Jets (uggh) and the Bills in weeks 16 & 17 respectively, which I forecast the Pats to win at least against the Jets. Root for the Pats to lose out

None of the other games influence the Steelers fate of securing the 2nd seed

As odd as it sounds, literally no other games affect the Steelers fate to aquire the 2nd seed. Of course, the Steelers need to win out, but they would likely play the winner of the Colts vs. 5th seed wildcard team (likely Baltimore or Cincinnati). Go Steelers!

We had a .8% chance of making the playoffs in week 15 last year, and look at how close the Steelers were one Succop field goal, Suisam field goal(s), or Antonio Brown sideline step away from making the playoffs last year, so anything can happen if there's a chance, right?
