I was waiting and I'm really surprised that no one has brought this up yet. In regards to Terrell Sugg's new 5-year, 28.5 million dollar contract (figures are according to RotoWorld.com), where does this set us up with our own contract situations with LaMarr Woodley and Jason Worilds?
I know that alot of yall have used the contract that Paul Kruger got last season as a benchmark for Worilds's new contract, but would it be more realistic to use Suggs's instead? Suggs is a much better pass rusher than Kruger, and to me, compares better to Worilds's than Kruger does. Suggs also got 16 million guaranteed. I'm thinking that a contract in the neighborhood of 4 to 5 years at 12 to 16 million should to the trick for a guy that hasn't played a full season since we made him a 2nd round pick a few years ago.
And in relation to Woodley, how much cap room would a new contract in the range of Suggs's new deal save us. I think if we pulled Woodley aside and approached him with a new contract(pay cut) in the range of a new 5 year, 20-22 million dollar contract with say 8 million guaranteed, would he go with it? If so, a deal like that would make him more tradeable in the future if we decide to go that route.
Anyways, those are just some random thoughts that I had, let me know what you think
