Defensive End Alex Carrington has left the Steelers without agreeing to a contract, as reported by Ed Bouchette.
Steelers may have signed NT Cam Thomas, but DE Alex Carrington leaves without a contract.

Here is Neal Coolong's description of the former Bills player:
[Carrington] is a long and powerful interior pass rusher who can play 5-technique, but is coming off a season-ending quadriceps injury that apparently was enough for the Bills to not want to make him enough of an offer to stay. He played well in 2012, and a solid 2013 could have had him in much more demand in this year's free agency class.
It is unclear as of yet whether a contract was even offered, or if perhaps Carrington failed his physical with the team's doctors.
Carrington was also the target of a few other teams, including AFC North rival Cleveland. The Steelers announced the signing of nose tackle Cam Thomas earlier today.
