Chris Johnson got his wish.
After an off season of speculation, Johnson's breakup with the Titans is now official.
Johnson, 28, has rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his first six seasons, all with the Titans. He joined an elite class of running backs by rushing for 2,006 yards back in 2009, becoming the sixth running back to break the 2k barrier. Adrien Peterson joined Johnson in the 2k club three years later.
The East Carolina product rushed for 7,965 yards and 50 touchdowns during his time in Tennessee.
St. Louis is among the teams that could land Johnson, who was due $8 million this season. Johnson played under Rams coach Jeff Fisher during his breakout 2009 campaign. Johnson, who at one point was considered the fastest running back in the NFL, would then play at least half of his games on a fast track inside the Edward Jones Dome.
