Mel Kiper would send Odell Beckham to the Steelers.
Perhaps Kevin Colbert, Mike Tomlin and Todd Haley feel something of the same.
All three were at LSU Wednesday, viewing the most popular Pro Day in the nation. Beckham was the Steelers' target in Mel Kiper's recent "A-grade" mock draft - a draft in which he gave each team the player he would pick for the first two rounds.
Beckham, an exciting and strong receiver has been projected as a mid-first round pick by many, and in a very deep receiver draft, he's competing with many other outstanding receivers. Baltimore and Kansas City are two other teams said to be digging into a receiver early in the draft.
Jarvis Landry, another Tigers receiver, should be considered a solid prospect as well.
There have been quiet talks about quarterback Zach Mettenberger coming to Pittsburgh as well. While he'd clearly be more of a developmental project, it may not be a terrible idea. Mettenberger tore his ACL during the this past season, but doctors are saying he is "97 percent" healed from the injury. He's a player the Steelers may be able to take a flier on in the middle rounds.
Of course, they did that with Landry Jones last year. It's unclear whether they gained anything from that.
