Just when you though Adam Schein couldn't get dumber, he comes up with a list like this. He made up a list of 8 players who need to step up in 2014 or else. On this list was David DeCastro and I was shocked to see him on this list. He was the Steelers best lineman IMO last year and I will go on record now saying he will make the Pro Bowl next year and at least 2nd team all pro. He is on his way to becoming one of the best guards in the NFL and quietly had an excellent 2013 campaign.
Everyone once called DeCastro -- a steady, sturdy offensive guard from Stanford -- one of the safest picks of the 2012 NFL Draft. Well, a knee injury claimed his first season and poor play marred 2013.
Pittsburgh hired O-line guru Mike Munchak this offseason. DeCastro must live up to the billing.
Seriously, does he even watch football? I'm not even kidding because if he caught anyone of the Steelers games last year, he would have seen that one of the 2 tackles Mike Adams or Marcus Gilbert is the lineman on the team who needs to "perform" in 2014 because Gilbert's contract is up and Adams will be up after 2015. They both underperformed last year by a wide margin and have to do something this year to show the Steelers they are worthy of a new contract.
I don't mind him putting members of the Steelers on this list, but leave DeCastro off of it. I don't see how he needs to make this list when both tackles we drafted in the 2nd round have done very little since they got here
