Let me start out by saying that one of my 3 weeks vacation is spent on Steeler events. Mostly on the 1pm Sunday games through Peak Season but I have been known to take the occasional Thursday off, you know prepping for the First Round Draft. BTW I still miss the two day event. Alright back to the story, I once was required to work every other Sunday during our peak season, you know Black Friday. I understand and accept this as part of my job. Did I mention I LOVE MY STEELERS.
So through out the year if we had Monday, Sunday and Thursday night games I was good. Now hitting the night games along with the 4 PM games and sharing vacation slots with a very good friend (Vikings fan and tries my method of not missing games) became a trick in itself. I have managed to miss zero games, let me say zero nunca nada zilch, no games, not a FN minute for 11 years. It has been a work of art as to my work schedule and Steeler Football.
Fast forward to the present. Let's say I am not at all happy with the current state of affairs concerning my new work schedule. I am happy that I am presently employed and have no qualms with my job, OTHER THAN MY NEW WORK SCHEDULE. I no longer work M-T (10 hour days). IMO the greatest work schedule known to man, instead my work week starts on a Sunday and ends............ who the hell cares it starts on SUNDAY.
We had individual meetings with Upper Management due to the change, air out our grievances and what not. Their was a whole lot of blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda. All I kept saying to my self was " WE ARE STARTING OUR WORK WEEK ON SUNDAYS, EVERY SUNDAY. My meeting lasted about a half of an hour and all I took from it was one phrase and one phrase only, "FOOTBALL ISN"T EVERYTHING"....... Wha???? So in my heart of hearts I knew he was a Cleveland fan.
P.S. I am truly thankful for my job, some still struggle to make ends meet
P.S.S With my wife's approval (HA HA) I will now use 2 weeks vacation. It will take some NASA Engineering to help figure out how but I will continue my streak. GO STEELERS
