Steelers Draft A Defensive Play-Maker

Okay Kevin Colbert, you aren't interested in moving up in the draft for a difference making Wide Receiver such as Mike Evans. Gotcha. In Colbert We Trust. Besides, the Steelers need to focus early and often on the defensive side of the ball in this draft, as any Black&Gold Blooded Steelers fan can tell you. So lets focus our attention there, believing a top 3 tackle will not fall to 15.

The Steelers need a Play-Making, Difference-Making, Attitude-Adjusting player, who will help bring back the swagger to the Steelers defense. Must have star quality, and become one of, if not the, best in the league at his position. Surely that is not asking too much from a General Manger who has good success drafting in the first round. Let's look at some of options that will likely be available when the Amazing Steelers make their pick.

1. Anthony Barr, OLB: From CBS "Freakish combination of size and athleticism. Possesses long arms, extraordinary burst off the ball and explosive closing ability -- a terrifying combination that gives him an immediate advantage over pass-blockers. Developing swim move to complement his speed, and possesses the strength and use of leverage to effectively bull-rush." He would be a dream come true, my words can't do him justice.

2. Justin Gilbert, CB: Exactly what we are looking for, a big-time talent, athletic ability off the charts, with a knack for intercepting the ball and taking it to the house, guy is great returning punts where he is always a threat with the ball in his hands. A special, special athlete at the position, who has a head for the ball and 4.31 speed. Will be a dangerous, dangerous weapon for some very happy NFL team.

3. CJ Mosley, ILB: I compare CJ to Troy, if Troy had been born as an ILB. A tremendous football mind, flies to ball, doesn't miss tackles, hits hard, gets in passing lanes, and is a general terror for opposing offenses. As the QB of the defense alone, he would greatly help the Steelers win games. Average hands keep him from the top spot, but I would be tremendously happy if the Steelers select CJ Mosley in the 2014 NFL Draft.

4. Calvin Pryor, FS: Perfect combination of size, athletic ability and ball skills. He will quickly become a feared man in the NFL. This hard-hitting, nose for the ball player excels both in coverage and against the run. WR's will be looking over their shoulders, and Running Backs looking to lay down versus risk a collision with this guided missile. He belongs in a Steelers uniform.
