Let's sign Tebow

Bitterness aside from the 2011 post season, we need to address our back-up QB situation. In short, I don't mind Gradkowski, but he's a bit washed up and his better days (not that there were many) are most likely behind him. I like him as a leader- real down to earth guy, Pittsburgh native, definitely a positive influence. I like him as a 3rd stringer to fill Charlie Batch's role two years ago. Now, Mr. Landry Jones. Landry, Landry, Landry. I understand he's a sophomore, but he didn't look great in the pre-season opener last Saturday. I wanted Pittsburgh to groom him to be our backup, but I don't see much upside for him, His last year at Oklahoma made him slip to the 4th round, but c'mon even Nassib looked better than him. I supported Landry's draft selection until this practice camp, but he has not proved himself since. He's holding a valuable roster spot that another QB should hold. He needs to go.

I expect Big Ben to retire with the Steelers, but he has an injury history that will inevitably catch up to him sometime in the future, and we need to invest in a backup. If not this off season, we should look to the draft or test the free agent waters. I think no one really gave Tebow a chance to grow in a system. We can claim him at any time. Let's give him a shot.
