Adams stabbing: Cell phone recovered

Jason Bridge-US PRESSWIRE

A cell phone believed to belong to one of the assailants of Steelers OT Mike Adams was recovered at the scene of the alleged incident.

According to Post-Gazette reporter Ed Bouchette and the agent of Mike Adams, "three or four" men were attempting to rob a truck belonging to Adams in front of his residence early Saturday morning.

Eric Metz, Adams agent, said the police are in possession of a cell phone believed to belong to one of the assailants. Metz also said Adams would be okay for training camp, but there was no mention about the final segment of OTAs, scheduled for this week in Pittsburgh, or the team's full minicamp, scheduled from June 11-13.

Adams is in stable condition in an area hospital.

Police Commander Kevin Kraus is expected to make a statement later in regards to the ongoing investigation.
