Steelers leave for London Thursday

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sport

Limping from a 40-23 loss at home on Sunday night, the Steelers will pack up for their Week 4 game against the Minnesota Vikings in London.

Amid the worst start in Mike Tomlin's career as head coach, the Steelers will fly over the pond Thursday to prepare to take on the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4.

A perfect time to get almost as far from Pittsburgh as possible.

The Steelers, 0-3, face the similarly winless Minnesota Vikings, dooming one of these teams to an 0-4 start. The game is technically a home game for the Vikings, although a large pro-Steelers crowd should be expected.

The Steelers will have their regular week of practice (film study Monday, off Tuesday, practices Wednesday and Thursday, walkthroughs Friday and Saturday). Before they go, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the team work out an inside linebacker or an offensive tackle - one due to the injury to Larry Foote, the other due to poor play.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said they'll head to England after their work in Pittsburgh is done, and the hope is to keep things as normal as possible.

"It’s not different for us until we get there," he said. "We don’t go until Thursday after work is done. So, between now and then it’s business as usual. That’s the approach we need to take. We’ve got a lot of work to do, obviously. So that is the approach we’ll take. We’ll deal with London when we get there."

The Vikings leave Monday, as per the broadcast of their 31-27 loss to Cleveland Sunday.
