LeGarrette Blount groused for more playing time.
Now, he might get his chance, if another team decides to pick him up.
The Steelers released Blount Tuesday morning after Blount left the field prior to the conclusion of Monday's 27-24 win at Tennessee. Blount was apparently upset over a lack of playing time, something he first made vocal back in October.
Blount did not receive a single carry on Monday night in what turned out to be the last game he'll play with the Steelers.
Blount was signed this off-season as the team was looking for a veteran power back to complement second-year Le'Veon Bell. The two became fast friends, so to speak. As well as sharing a friendship, they were arrested together this August for marijuana possession (Bell for DUI) reportedly on their way to the airport before the Steelers took on the Philadelphia Eagles in the preseason.
The team released a statement announcing the move:
"We believe the decision to release LeGarrette is in the best interest of the organization and wish him the best of luck," Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin said.
