The last time the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted a playoff game, they defeated the New York Jets 31-24 in the AFC Championship, earning a trip to the Super Bowl. Pittsburgh would go on to lose to the Green Bay Packers 31-25.
Starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, the Steelers will be selling a limited number of tickets for a potential playoff game on Jan. 3 or Jan 4. If Pittsburgh defeats Kansas City, they will earn their first trip to the playoffs since 2011. If, after defeating Kansas City, Pittsburgh defeats Cincinnati in Week 17, the Steelers would clinch their first AFC North championship since 2010.
The only way the Steelers would host a playoff game would be by winning their division. It would appear the third and fourth seeds in the AFC will be held by the Colts and the AFC North champion. Depending on how the current No. 3 seed Indianapolis does in their final two games, the third seed could still be up for grabs.
Tickets can be purchased from ticketmaster.com or by calling the Heinz Field box office at 1-800-745-3000.
Should Pittsburgh's playoff endeavor fall short, the price of tickets will be refunded.
