Pittsburgh Steelers fans that wanted Brett Keisel back in the black and gold might want to stop reading this now. According to Kent Somers of azcentral.com, Keisel is on his way to take a physical with the Arizona Cardinals.
The Cardinals have a need for a defensive lineman since losing Darnell Dockett for the season with a knee injury. Cardinals' head coach Bruce Arians obviously has a familiarity with the veteran defensive lineman from his time with the Steelers.
If Keisel passes his physical and signs a contract to play for the Cardinals, chalk it up as just another Steelers player that has left the Steel City for what is now being dubbed as "Pittsburgh West".
Keisel was thought to be a safety net for the Steelers if second round pick Stephon Tuitt was unable to fulfill a starting role as a rookie along the defensive line.
Some even spoke of a possible agreement between the man Steelers fans knew as 'Da Beard' and the Steelers organization that they would contact him after training camp to be quality depth and a veteran presence along the defensive line.
Regardless of the situation, if Keisel was the insurance policy for the Steelers and the defensive line, it looks like the Steelers might be heading into the season without an insurance policy if all goes well for Keisel in Arizona.
