Isaac Redman's name has been brought up among fans and media outlets after the arrests of Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount as a possible option if the team's top two running backs are lost for any duration of time due to suspension.
Via Twitter, Redman stated how a career ending neck injury is what is keeping him away from returning to the NFL; therefore ending any speculation of a possible return to football.
Redman was on the Steelers' roster last season, but was released midway through the season, and never was picked up by another NFL team. This could explain why he never returned to the field.
Redman was beloved by Steelers fans for his hard work, especially around the goal line. That hard work got him the nickname Isaac 'Redzone' Redman.
Although once thought to be the next feature running back for the Steelers, Redman's injury still caps off a remarkable NFL career after making the Steelers roster as an undrafted rookie from Bowie State University and being bounced around the practice squad for years before getting every day carries for the Steelers.
