Santonio Holmes could be employed by an NFL team soon, but that employer doesn't look like it is going to be the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Holmes' name was being tossed around this offseason when he was released by the New York Jets and the Steelers lost wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Jerricho Cotchery. However, that rumor never seemed to gain any momentum.
News today is that the Chicago Bears brought Holmes in for a workout, and the Cleveland Browns have also shown genuine interest in the veteran receiver.
Once considered a sought after commodity as a big play receiver for the Steelers, Holmes' time in New York was known more for injuries and an overall bad attitude. The Browns would be a logical choice for Holmes, with the ruling on Josh Gordon's suspension to be released soon. Holmes also played his college football at Ohio State University, which could draw him back to the buckeye state.
Regardless of where he lands, Holmes will be trying to resurrect the career that once had him accepting a Super Bowl MVP trophy with the Steelers, and now is simply searching for employment.
