In a day the Steelers may have lost two running backs to suspension at some point in the regular season, the Steelers lost their second linebacker for the night.
Steelers outside linebacker Jason Worilds came up hobbled after touching down quarterback Mark Sanchez for an easy sack. It appeared Worilds may have banged knees with nose tackle Steve McLendon, ironically, the only pressure the Steelers really have had in this game.
Spence went down in the third quarter as well, also a knee injury.
Worilds was given the team's transition tag this offseason on the strength of a second half of 2013 where he had seven sacks in nine games. He only had 11 in his previous three and a half years with the team, creating something of an issue as to what his exact value is long-term.
With or without Worilds, the Steelers defense has been thoroughly defeated in this game, with Philadelphia leading 31-7 after three quarters. Whatever the Steelers may have gained from a win over Buffalo in their second preseason game was lost, just like Worilds and Spence.
