The Pittsburgh Steelers have put the final touches on their game day roster heading into a meaningless Week 17 game against the Cleveland Browns at Heinz Field. The inactive list heading into the contest certainly has some big names on it, and rightfully so as the team prepares for the AFC Playoffs.
Below is the complete inactive list for the Steelers:
SS Robert Golden (ankle)
TE Ladarius Green (concussion)
DE Stephon Tuitt (knee)
QB Ben Roethlisberger (healthy scratch)
RB Le’Veon Bell (healthy scratch)
WR Antonio Brown (healthy scratch)
C Maurkice Pouncey
These inactives are no surprise to fans of the black and gold. Mike Tomlin told media on Tuesday he will be resting several starters, naming the above players who were healthy scratches, and the other three on the list were ruled out of the game on Friday.
So, it means it will be Landry Jones, Fitzgerald Toussaint and B.J. Finney getting the job done today for Pittsburgh. The question now remains, can the Steelers’ backups beat the Browns starters? For the Steelers to have their winning streak go from 6 to 7 games, that will have to happen at Heinz Field on fan appreciation day.
The Steelers and Browns will kick off at 1:00 p.m. EDT to put the finishing touches on the 2016 regular season, as everyone also celebrates the start of a new year. Stay tuned to BTSC for the latest news and updates surrounding the black and gold throughout the game, and afterwards.
