Spence to participate in offseason workouts

Former Steelers third round pick Sean Spence is better today than he was in the fall of 2012, but he's not as good as he'll be tomorrow.

Wheaton had finger surgery this offseason

The report didn't specify which one, but it seems fair to assume it was one one of the two he broke during the 2013 season. Those injuries limited Wheaton's rookie year, but looks to break out in Year 2.

'Embernasty' says he's 'going to come back strong'

The Steelers lost their most popular undrafted free agent in training camp of 2013, but he said Saturday, after his alma mater San Diego State advanced to the Sweet 16, he's optimistic about his return.

Spence 'significantly ahead' of expectations

Post-Gazette reporter Gerry Dulac tweeted Friday linebacker Sean Spence appears to be on the road to recovery, and adds some fuel to speculation that Larry Foote was released because Spence will be able to compete for a starting position in 2014.

Sanders, Worilds questionable vs. Browns

Steelers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders will be a game-time decision Sunday in Pittsburgh's regular season finale.

Worilds, Sanders miss practice Thursday

The pending free agents won't want to miss the regular season finale when the Steelers and Browns kick off from Heinz Field Sunday.

Steelers injury report: Sanders, Garvin could play

The Steelers are a bit banged up at two positions heading into a critical Week 17 game against Cleveland.

Jarvis Jones comes down with illness Saturday

Jones came down with the illness Saturday evening, and if he's unable to play, Chris Carter will likely take his place.

Steelers injury report: Keisel limited Thursday

With only two more games being guaranteed for the Steelers this season (and hopes of more being around "miracle" level), Brett Keisel may need to wait until the finale to play what could be his last game for the Steelers.

Cotchery out Wednesday, Keisel, Gilbert limited

If Keisel is unable to play Sunday, placement on injured reserve has to near for the veteran who is a free agent after this season.

Steelers place LaMarr Woodley on injured reserve

Steelers shut Woodley down with his second calf injury this year, raising questions about his future in Pittsburgh. To replace his spot on the roster, the Steelers signed LB Jamaal Westerman.

Steelers injury report: Keisel out vs. Bengals

Ziggy Hood will start in his place against Cincinnati on Sunday Night Football. Kelvin Beachum will return to left tackle, and Troy Polamalu is expected to play.

Steelers injury report: Keisel, McLendon miss Wed.

If defensive end Brett Keisel and nose tackle Steve McLendon are to play in Week 15, their practice week isn't off to a good start.

Woodley will play vs. Dolphins, Beachum will not

The Steelers will see the return of Woodley in this game, but they will move the team's most productive player over the last three weeks, Jason Worilds, to the right side of the defense.

Woodley, Bell both practice fully

It appears as if the Steelers will have both LaMarr Woodley and Le'Veon Bell at their disposal when they host the Miami Dolphins Sunday.

Beachum, DeCastro miss Wednesday practice

Kelvin Beachum and David DeCastro both missed practice, as did nose tackle Steve McLendon. LaMarr Woodley was limited, while Mike Adams and Le'Veon Bell practiced fully, according to Steelers Digest's Bob Labriola.

Offensive line B squad could be only option

The Steelers have been hit by injuries on their offensive line previously, but perhaps never quite as bad as it may be for their AFC showdown with Miami in Week 14.

Injuries told the story of 2012, same as 2013

We can drone on about different combinations of starting offensive linemen, the bigger picture perspective here is the Steelers have lost 12 of their last 19 games since Ben Roethlisberger's injury in Week 10 of the 2012 season.

Beachum limping, not practicing, Monday

Post-Gazette reporter Ed Bouchette Tweeted Monday left tackle Kelvin Beachum was limping outside of practice Monday, bringing up a potential problem for the Steelers.

Steelers have fourth-most players on IR in the NFL

The 11 players they've placed on IR so far this season is already ahead of the totals in 2011 and 2012. They've also placed starting offensive linemen and tight ends on IR or IR-Recall nine times since 2012.

Possible returns of Keisel, Thomas.

The Steelers may see the return of Brett Keisel and Shamarko Thomas Thursday when they take on Baltimore. The same may not ring true for LaMarr Woodley.

Woodley, Keisel must practice Tuesday to play

The participation in the Steelers game vs. Baltimore Thursday night for LaMarr Woodley and Brett Keisel will depend on their ability to practice fully Tuesday.

McLendon may have broken ankle

It doesn't look good for the Steelers' fourth-year nose tackle. He left FirstEnergy Stadium on crutches. Back-up cornerback Curtis Brown appears to have suffered a significant knee injury as well.

McLendon left with left ankle injury

McLendon's absence would test the defensive flexibility of the Steelers. Ziggy Hood and Cameron Heyward split plays in McLendon's absence. Heyward, pushed the pocket and helped sack quarterback Jason Campbell two plays after McLendon left.

Steelers vs. Browns injury reports for both teams

With the obvious nicks and bruises that come with NFL games in the second half of the season, both teams are relatively healthy - except the Steelers may be down two defensive starters for the second straight game.

Thomas out, Woodley, Keisel questionable

The Steelers could be without three defenders for the second straight game when they take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 12 Sunday.
