Steelers Contracts and Salary Cap

Play Money: Offensive Tackles

Offensive tackle was definitely a position lacking quality in 2013, but the Steelers are more likely to continue to work with the talent they already have than to reach in the early rounds of the draft.

Play Money: Tight Ends

The Steelers got a taste of what life is like without Heath Miller at tight end during their winless beginning to the season. To prevent history from repeating itself in the future, the team needs to address the position soon.

Play Money: Running Backs

Le'Veon Bell is the future at running back for the Steelers, not only because they drafted him with a second-round pick in 2013, but also because he is the only back on the roster beyond this season.

Play Money: Wide Receivers

Antonio Brown has established himself as the top dog in the Steelers receiving corps, but the team will need to find some supplemental talent to fill out the depth chart in 2014.

Play Money: Outside Linebackers

The Steelers are about to experience a logjam at outside linebacker with Jason Worilds heading through the exit, LaMarr Woodley squeezing his way back in from the bank and Jarvis Jones trying to fit in anywhere he can.

Play Money: Quarterbacks

The Steelers are staring down the barrel of their highest draft position in years after another non-winning season. Should they draft a QB for the future, or just worry about the franchise passer they already have?

Salary Cap: Looking forward to 2014

The players may continue to take the 2013 season one game at a time, but after guaranteeing a second-consecutive non-winning season after losing their last two games, the organization will begin to focus on the future.

What in the Worilds are the Steelers to do?

The more Jason Worilds continues to look like a starting NFL linebacker on the left side of the Steelers defense, the more LaMarr Woodley develops a striking resemblance to Willie Colon.

Worilds contract situation is similar to Lewis's

Worilds is a free agent this offseason, and his play of late will no doubt up his price tag a bit. He will attract other suitors, and his situation likely won't be much different than it was for former Steelers cornerback Keenan Lewis.

Ben open to 'whatever it takes' to help team

If Ben Roethlisberger will do "whatever it takes" to help the team in his upcoming contract extension negotiations, it's possible he takes a few less dollars, or, the proverbial hometown discount.
